What TRIDENT capabilities can an organisation integrate?
Depending on the approved use case, organisations can integrate capabilities such as identity verification, secure authentication, transaction approval, verified data, electronic signing, TRIDENT ID Card interaction and digital credential services.
Where can I find the latest TRIDENT updates?
Programme announcements, service launches, guidance materials and important updates will be published through the TRIDENT portal.
What services can I access with my TRIDENT ID?
You can use your TRIDENT ID with Government and other authorised services connected to the ecosystem. The catalogue of participating services expands progressively as organisations complete their integrations.
How can I use my TRIDENT ID?
Your TRIDENT ID gives you new ways to use and protect your identity online, on your phone, or in person. Depending on the service, you can use your ID Card, ID Account, Mobile Authenticator, or ID Wallet to prove who you are, share the information you choose, sign documents, approve transactions, and securely access participating services.
You can also use the Citizen Portal as your private space to view and manage your digital identity. More options become available as new services are introduced.
Can Government entities and private organisations connect to TRIDENT?
Yes. Government entities and authorised organisations can connect existing or new services to TRIDENT and use Shared Capabilities such as identity verification, secure authentication, verified data, electronic signing, ID Card integration, and digital credentials.
TRIDENT complements the systems organisations already use, providing a common identity and trust foundation while each organisation remains responsible for its own services, policies, and decisions.
How does TRIDENT protect my personal information?
TRIDENT protects personal information in accordance with Barbados’ Data Protection Act, 2019, using strong authentication, controlled access, secure data exchanges, and clear permissions. Only authorised services can request the information needed for an approved interaction, and where your consent is required, you are informed before anything is shared.
What is TRIDENT?
TRIDENT ID, often referred to simply as TRIDENT, is Barbados’ trusted digital identity ecosystem. It gives citizens new ways to use their national identity through the TRIDENT ID Card, secure online and mobile identity, verified information, and digital credentials.
Through TRIDENT Shared Services, Government programmes and authorised organisations can build simpler, safer, and more connected services for citizens.
Who is TRIDENT for?
TRIDENT is designed for citizens and residents, Government entities, and authorised organisations that need trusted identity capabilities to access or provide participating services.
Do I need a different password for every TRIDENT-enabled service?
Not necessarily. Participating services can allow you to use your TRIDENT ID for secure authentication, reducing the need for separate identity credentials for every connected service. Sensitive interactions may require additional confirmation.
Can I use my TRIDENT ID in person as well as online?
Yes. TRIDENT is designed to support online, mobile and in-person identity journeys. Depending on the service, citizens can use their TRIDENT ID Card, Mobile Authenticator, Wallet or other enabled TRIDENT ID channels.
