TRIDENT ID, often referred to simply as TRIDENT, is Barbados’ trusted digital identity ecosystem. It gives citizens new ways to use their national identity through the TRIDENT ID Card, secure online and mobile identity, verified information, and digital credentials.
Through TRIDENT Shared Services, Government programmes and authorised organisations can build simpler, safer, and more connected services for citizens.
Your TRIDENT ID gives you new ways to use and protect your identity online, on your phone, or in person. Depending on the service, you can use your ID Card, ID Account, Mobile Authenticator, or ID Wallet to prove who you are, share the information you choose, sign documents, approve transactions, and securely access participating services.
You can also use the Citizen Portal as your private space to view and manage your digital identity. More options become available as new services are introduced.
TRIDENT protects personal information in accordance with Barbados’ Data Protection Act, 2019, using strong authentication, controlled access, secure data exchanges, and clear permissions. Only authorised services can request the information needed for an approved interaction, and where your consent is required, you are informed before anything is shared.
