What is the TRIDENT ID Wallet?
The TRIDENT Wallet, also known as the TRIDENT ID Wallet, is a secure app that allows citizens to receive, store, view and present trusted digital credentials linked to their identity and other approved information. It can be used both online and, where enabled, in person.
Can the TRIDENT Mobile Authenticator reduce the number of passwords I need?
Yes. Participating services can allow citizens to authenticate using their TRIDENT ID, reducing the need to remember separate usernames and passwords for every connected service.
What is the TRIDENT Mobile Authenticator (Mobile ID)?
The TRIDENT Mobile Authenticator, also known as the TRIDENT Mobile ID, is a secure app that you can download to your smartphone and link to your TRIDENT ID Account. Once activated, it lets you sign in to participating services, review authentication requests, and approve important or sensitive actions from your phone.
Instead of relying only on passwords, the Mobile Authenticator gives you an additional trusted way to confirm that it is really you using your TRIDENT ID.
What is a TRIDENT ID Account (Online ID)?
Your TRIDENT ID Account, also known as your TRIDENT Online ID, is your Government-issued digital identity account. It is linked to your verified national identity and gives you a trusted way to sign in, prove who you are, and access participating Government and authorised online services.
Your account can use a username and password for standard access, an email one-time password (OTP) when additional verification is required, and the TRIDENT Mobile ID Authenticator for stronger authentication and approval of sensitive actions.
Can the TRIDENT ID Card be used as a travel document?
The TRIDENT ID Card is designed in accordance with applicable ICAO specifications and can support travel where Barbados and the destination country have established the necessary recognition arrangements. Citizens should always check official destination requirements before travelling.
Can participating services read information from my TRIDENT ID Card?
Yes, where an approved service supports card integration. Compatible readers and TRIDENT card middleware can allow authorised applications to retrieve supported identity information from the card, but only after the citizen has been informed of the request and has given consent. Card data is not accessed or shared without the citizen’s consent.
How is the TRIDENT ID Card protected?
The TRIDENT ID Card includes secure electronic technology and protected card functions. A personal PIN can provide an additional layer of protection for supported electronic uses, combining possession of the card with information known only to the citizen.
What should I do if my TRIDENT ID Card is lost, stolen or damaged?
Contact EBC and follow the applicable replacement process. Lost, stolen, damaged or otherwise unusable cards should be reported in accordance with EBC requirements and the Identity Management Act.
What should I do if I change my address?
EBC manages the applicable change-of-residence process. Citizens should follow EBC’s current guidance and notify the relevant authority within the period established by the Identity Management Act.
What documents do I need to register?
The required documents depend on citizenship, residency status and the information that must be verified. Check EBC’s current registration guidance before attending, as additional evidence may be required depending on your circumstances.
